Once more into the breach! It was 99° during the day so that meant an automatic move to the patio for our second poker al fresco’ event of 2025.
This time it was Dealer’s Choice, all 17 games plus another half dozen variations or so - and with two tables of six and seven going full blast it was a snap to get through all the games!
As the sun set it cooled a bit but not too much, an evening low of 77° with an occasional delightful breeze to make it absolutely perfect.

| Garage WAY too hot to play in! |
Red table had yours truly, el Jeffe, Mr M.C. (Looking spry with two brand new titanium hips recently installed), Ian, Lea Anne and Allen R.
Green table featured Stuve, Priya, Vito, Colin, Bud, Alan S and Rich. They were quite boisterous all night.
Most players made it to 11. I think Lea Anne cashed out a bit before that up or down a little I can’t remember, but not a major swing. Stuve had left even earlier to deal with a family issue, nothing too serious is my understanding. MC was the first to take a big hit and take it as a cue to depart. Don’t blame him up after this hand…
Yes that is the always fun boat over boat.
Eventually a couple of others left and Colin came over to the red table for a single group of six or seven. We made it till after midnight.
Your humble host unfortunately did not finish up, I started off taking a big hit and then spun it back up to double my buy-in by coolering Mr. Allen R. A couple of hours later we both got all the chips in again, I had the current nuts on the flop, but he had too many outs to mess in big O and got there, so I got felted. One time for Max pain!

| My stack before the fall… |
In the end I finished stuck $230. Not my worst night, but certainly in the top five.
The two big winners at my table as far as I can see were Allen R. and El Jeffe, The latter for sure finishing well up over $200 in profit. As always most were up or down a little bit, and a handful of players left with crumbs. Never fun to lose, but always fun to play poker!
Our next cash game session is in two weeks, there is no poker at PSP over Labor Day weekend. You may have noticed that I canceled the tournament on September 6, we are rescheduled for September 27. The Evite is out, be sure to let me know if you didn’t get it. Hopefully it won’t be as hot later in the month and there will be no scheduling conflicts. Very much looking forward to that!
A huge thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a fun time as always, you all are the best!
Until next time, peace and we out!
