It was an unseasonably cool 1st of June as 30 degenerate gamblers crammed into the cozy confines of the Garage Around Back.

I must say - since we've been starting at 5pm, I've had ZERO people pine for going back to 7pm, and numerous people talking about how GREAT it is to get going earlier and get home at a reasonable time.

Abomination of the month.

There was lots of heavy action right off the bat - though we didn't lose anyone before dinner, we did have half a dozen re-entries including a couple of stack surrenders.  The prize pool was looking mighty tasty!

Player favorites - the Tiki Kings were out in force!

Dinner came and went, Tony for some reason (perhaps it was his late addition to the Evite) decided to put it upon himself to pay for all the pizzas.  Very generous Tony, completely not necessary but very much appreciated!

Yours truly busted out early, again - not the best year so far for me at Pepper Street - but the third table didn't bust until well after the sun went down.  It was another good 90 minutes before it was final table time.

Final table -congrats!

Eric L. was our unfortunate bubble - and didn't even get a lotto ticket when he spun the wheel and hit it.  I was all out of tickets!  Remind me next time I see you Eric, I will have a scratcher with your name on it.

And then we were paying six.

First to bust for double their buy-in was Mr. Jacob, who finished even for the night because his better half had already busted earlier.

Next out was newly inducted Legacy player Mr. Allen R. - gracious as always in exiting, he pocketed $100 plus a bounty or two.

Then it was Art's turn to bust - he got $140 for fourth place.   And then there were three.

Sheyna lamented that this was her third, third place exit this year.  She still took home $200 and a lot of points in the POY race.

And then we were heads up!

This truly was anybody's tournament, as there was lots of poker left to play with both players upwards of 40 bigs deep.   First Tony took a big hit, then grinded back a bit - then both players woke up with a hand and the chips went in.  

Mike was ahead, but Old Man River had other ideas - with a King spiking at the end to give Tony his first monthly tournament in quite awhile.

Mike was happy enough with $340 for 2nd PLUS another $30 in bounties.

Tony got the trophy, the TOC seat and $480 for first - plus another $20 in bounties for $500 even!  Not too shabby for a $40 tournament!

Tony gets a gang of points for POY, Mike does as well - and Mike is now firmly in the lead on the spreadsheet; it's still early yet, but the rest of us have to get to work to catch him!

By the way Tony, I think it's probably a good idea to buy pizza every month - clearly it's good karma!

As always, a huge thanks to everyone who came out and made it a great time as always.   I am truly blessed to have such a fun bunch, that filled the game in less than a day!  Wow am I lucky host!

Our next monthly is the BIG ONE, the almighty PSP Main Event, meaning it's an $80 entry, likely to start a bit earlier in the day.  I've got my eyeball on July 6 or possibly the following Saturday the 13th.  I will send the Evite likely sometime this week.  Keep your eyes peeled!
