2019.03 Omaha /8

We were supposed to have 16, but after a rash of cancellations we ended up with just 12. A small group but big fun for the always awesome annual Omaha 8 or Better tournament in the Garage Around Back!

So even though the field was a bit smaller than usual, the fun was just as big as ever!   Remember, those that showed up get double points for POY.

Also, no money is ever taken from the prize pool for the TOC in non-NLHE events.

Also, the next short list No Limit Hold-Em tournament, the folks who played last night get the first invite.

One great thing we had was two awesome dealers - Jerry and Jason made the four card deal outs and board reading and chopped pots a breeze!  You guys rock!

Yours truly managed to run up a HUGE stack at my table, but don't worry, there was still plenty of time to punt it all off when the final table formed.

These guys are in the money, I was not.

I bubbled and didn't spin the wheel, cause that would be a dick move.

First to bust and cash was Jeff G., getting his $40 buy in back.  There were no re-entries for the entire tournament (shocker in a fixed limit event I know).

Next out was Jeff's buddy and great guy and newly added to the short list Rich, who got a double buy in pay out for third place.

And then there were two...

Jerry continued to deal like a champ, and Ian (gentleman and scholar) hung out to shuffle like a crazy person.   Means a lot my man, this host really appreciates it.

In the end the head's up battle was brief but intense.  A cooler-ish run out saw Jason on the worst side of the result, getting $140 for 2nd place and leaving this guy with a $220 payout and a seat in the Tournament of Champions!

Like he never left!

Congrats to Mikey P. who made the long journey from Bellflower to rock the big stack and take it down!

A huge thanks again to our dealers, Jason and Jerry - and also mucho grassy ass to all the homies who sacked up and played real poker with us when so many others had too much sand up in their parts to take part.

Our next tournament is a short list event, which those of you didn't make this one will not be invited to.

But after that, our next big monthly is our February tournament, in April!  That's right, I've been so busy that we missed our Feb event.   Time to make it up!   Right now I have it tentatively scheduled for the 6th of April, but that could change.  Stay tuned!
