A delightfully cool evening in Burbank found all but one of the 21 players showing up on time to take their 2K in bonus chips along with their seats to do battle once more on the multi-colored felts in the garage around back.

The angry red octogon was broken first, with Brian C. hitting the rail just before the first break.
There was a bit of hooting and hollering going on over there, and rather than simmer down once a player had busted, the shenanigans continued over at big blue.
Meanwhile it was a bit more sedate at old greenie, though no less exciting poker-wise.

I neglected to take a picture of the final table, which formed just before 11pm. But you can see all who was there in the video up top.
The money bubble burst at exactly midnight. The indomitable Tommy O. was the unfortunate bubbler while Barbara was first to cash, getting her buy-in back in fifth place.
Jeff S. went out next for double his buy in and two bounties. Three handed play went on past 1am with Julie A. finally succumbing for $120 of third place money plus several bounty chips.
And then it was heads up. Yours truly had a substantial chip lead which was almost lost more than a few times as I continued my old habit of getting my chips in dominated. This actually happened twice and I was able to crawl back. The third time I was well covered and looked to be on my way out, but I sucked out and was on my way to regaining the lead, which I did eventually get and keep.
Despite playing expertly, Dog was unable to fade my incredible luck and had to settle for $200 second place monies and a couple of bounties. I once again had proven that anyone can win this thing. Dog had actually just won one of our Friday night sit-n-gos only last week.

So having already won my seat, I get 5K extra in starting chips in the Tournament of Champions in December. Better lucky than good I guess. Once again I am genuinely humbled that I was able to go all the way in my garage. There's a lot of tough players here who also happen to be great people, and I am very grateful to be able to hold my own among them.
Our next multi-table event is June 20th. We will likely not have a sit-n-go or cash game between now and then, as I plan to abscond to the World Series of Poker in Vegas along with Jason, Allen Q., Jeff S., Eric T. and Mike P. and Dog D., plus others I'm sure. If you've never been and love the game, or even if you have a deep like of the game, the WSOP is a must go event. Hope you can make it!
