This month's collectible chip was, shall we say, a little bit spicy!
Action was hot and heavy from the get go, with Tina and Dan L getting it all in in the first orbit! Tina came out on the short end of that proverbial stick and quickly reloaded.
Bust outs came quickly and for once the timing worked out perfectly with the third table breaking at exactly the same time as the second break.
It was another 90 minutes before the second table broke and then it was final table time.
The final table continued the evening trend for crazy aggression and action, witness this four way hand - all in pre-flop!
The hands on the left were all-in first and then they ran into fish hooks and big slick. Jacob had the jacks and put a hammer lock on the hand by spiking a set on the flop. He knocked out Garner and Allen R. and put a serious dent in Dan L's stack.
And then it was bubble time!
After taking the hit, Dan was the unlucky bubble shortly thereafter. But was he unlucky really? He got to spin the wheel-o-fun and he won the rights to pick his seat in the next monthly, a fairly awesome prize if I do say so myself. He also got to take home this lovely token of appreciation...
And then it was time to make it rain! The first to collect cash was the always delightful Priya who had rocked the short stack expertly to earn her money back.
Next out was the mighty Jacob who scored his second cash in as many tournaments, this time for $160 in fourth place.
Finishing in third place for $220 was Brooklyn native and all around good guy Michael KM.
For the second month in a row all players finishing in the money found this delightful chippy in their payout envelopes.
And then there were two.
The hour was late and both Emanuel and myself had plenty of chips, though I had an almost 2 to 1 advantage. I proposed an ICM chop and was happy to give E the Tournament of Champions seat as I have already won my spot. The numbers came out somewhat close to what first and second would pay anyways, and Eamanuel then very graciously insisted that he should collect second-place money and I first since he was getting the seat. That was $360 for him and for $440 for me. Emanuel also had won $30 in bounties, which I spaced out on paying him! Emanuel, there's $30 waiting for you in the lock box the next time you come.

And so, as you might have guessed, there was no river on the final hand of the tournament because we made a deal. I'm not sure exactly how much is in the envelope at this point but whoever wins next time if there is a winner will easily get over $100.
As always, a huge thank you to everyone who came out to splash chips around with us. Even when I don't have a fantastic cash, it's always a great time playing poker with you all. It was great seeing the very infrequent playing Hugh, I hope he will come back again sooner rather than later. Also I thanks to Kyle for bringing in new player and a swell guy Charlie. The weekend after that Jason will be playing in the World Series of poker, representing Pepper Street. Two weeks after that I will saddle up in the greatest tournament on the planet, the Main Event of the WSOP. Yes, I confess I am a tiny bit excited for that. Just a bit.
There may or may not be a small tournament or cash game or two in between all that, we will see. As always, with smaller events space is extremely limited and senior players get first crack at seats.
