2025.16

Once again, it was the beginning of the month so it was time for another good ol' fashion' No-Limit Texas Hold-Em tournament!  Numbers ticked back up from last time - 18 eager gamblers squeezed in and threw down in the tournament streets!

Lots of folks are Vegas bound this summer, and more than a few showed up in The Garage Around Back last night - so it was a great chance for one last low stakes / big fun dance before the bright lights and much bigger buy-ins of sin city over the next month and a half. Some regulars (cough, cough, Lea Anne) were already in Vegas!  Lea Anne missed her first tournament at PSP in a loooong time!

Our poker chip line up for this fine Saturday - the always spectacular 43mm Paulson THC Tigers!  Now complete with matching table toppers!  Yes, I have a serious problem!

As 5:30 finally hit, action was fast and furious from the jump.  I found myself chipping up big early, and then before I knew it turning two pair and getting it all in against Allen R.'s turned broadway straight!  Good times!

From the sounds of it, there were equally ridiculous run-outs over at table 2 as well!

It was great to see the long missing Mr. Joey - he has two kids these days, and lots of life happening.  Grateful he could take time to come gamble with us again after a long hiatus.  Mr. Marc F. also joined us from across town - I know the distance is never easy, your efforts are greatly appreciated good sir!

Frustrated at my inability to spin my stack back up, I finally succumbed just before the second break.  I believe we went to a final table shortly after that.

You may notice a new player - that would be Ms. Sharon, who is yet another Moose recruit.  Great to have you Sharon, hope you had fun and will come back soon!

Alas, she did not make the money (boo) - and neither did Debbie, Allen R or Mr. Ian. Our final five continued to battle - but we were only paying four!

Not staged at all.

Big swings were in store for everyone, but in the end it was Mr. Colin who ended up bubbling.  He received a hearty hand shake for his efforts.  Tournament poker is BRUTAL.

And then we were in the money and a four way battle commenced - with quite the roller coaster ride for all involved!

Our fourth place finisher, for $160 was the estimable Mr. Ken.

Finishing in third, after a hard fought three handed battle that saw his stack up and down more than once - was Reverend Jeff, who is Main Event bound in the World Series of Poker this year lets remember - Jeff took home $320 as a nice little bank roll booster for his upcoming adventure.

And then there were two...

I have to say, I can't remember the last heads-up match that was as hotly contested as this one.  Mr. Mark and Mr. Ross both went at it full bore - for I want to say a good 45 minutes or so.  Both aggressive, both refusing to give an inch.

In the end it took a bit of a cold deck - top two pair vs. an unlikely gutshot  - to leave this man at the top of the mountain, with a $540 payout, PSP card protector and TOC seat secured!

Nicely done Mark, and well deserved!

Another top finish for Mr. Ross as well, who took $420 (watcha smoking) in second place.   Good on both of ya!

Once again a huge thanks to everyone who came out and made it a great time as always.  Your host is ever humbled and grateful for your kindness and company.

A special thanks to Mr. Jeff G. who volunteered to deal at his table - allowing me to deal at mine - and making it more enjoyable for everyone.  We may still pass the deck in future tournaments, but a dedicated dealer sure is a nice way to go.

Our next tournament looks like it will NOT be in July.  Boo!  Just too much going on, between the WSOP, the 4th of July holiday and other summer activities.  Not to mention it will likely be hot AF. Right now I'm looking at August 2 for our next MTT, which will also probably be hot.  If it is, look for the tourney to start at 7 and be out on the patio.

But in-between then and now we will still be doing lots of cash games, most Friday nights in fact.  We play 3 different cash game nights - Big Mix with all the games.  Big Bet with Hold-Em only until 10:30 and then a NLHE/PLO mix after, and Fix Limit Fiesta with a 9 game rotation of Fix Limit favorites.

If you're not on that evite list (I know a fair amount of you don't care for cash so I try not to bug ya) but you want to be - be sure to let me know!  The most fun we have in the garage, IMHO, is on cash game nights, where your night isn't over if you get felted.  Reload!  Very much looking forward to all the fun poker to come.

Until then, peace and we out!
