After it had been 110 degrees for a week, the temperature finally relented a little - so I replaced our canceled Wednesday cash game with a Friday night tournament on Sep 9 - and we were underway with a full table and all in good spirits.
Since it was Friday night we didn't have to worry too much about it going too late - and we could enjoy a normal structure with our usual generous 20K starting stack.
It was almost 2 full hours before our first bust out, 2 time tournament champ in 2022 - Mr. Jeff G. who ran into Mike C.'s QQ - twice!
And it was almost another full hour before our next bust out! After that there were more frequent eliminations that gradually sped up - until Ms. Lea Anne busted in 5th and became the bubbler.
Yours truly was out next, leaving the game in 4th with a mere single buy-in for my troubles, though it was better than what 5 other players got which was nothing.
And then we continued 3 handed. Onetime Player of the Year Ken was next to fall in third for a $100 payout.
I don't remember much about heads up play, but it was rather short and very brutal.
Also a former player of the year, Mr. Venom, aka Jerry - finished in second place for $200 even.
And when it was all over, new player for 2022 Mr. Mike C. was atop the pile and collected a full $300 and a hearty handshake (or at least a fist bump) from his opponent and yours truly.
Another great night in the books! Looking forward to Crazy Ass Pineapple in 3 days, hope you can make it and if you haven't received an Evite be sure to let me know.
Until then, peace and we out!
