Pepper Street - Post-Pandemic

Going forward I wanted to write down and have it on record as to what expectations are from me and what I will be requiring from you to come play live poker with us.

I have known for over a decade that my game is very diverse in terms of world views - there are players with all different outlooks on life and what goes into it - so I want to be sure everyone knows that I respect each and every one of you and the views that you carry with you.  I have never been in the business or shaming or belittling people with different opinions and that will not change because of this pandemic.

That said, it is my game, and I do have some rules.  

When it comes to Covid-19, I have lots of thoughts - but the only thoughts I really need to share with you are as follows...

   - To come over and play poker you need to be 14 days past your final or only vaccine injection.

   - Alternately if you have been verifiably diagnosed with Covid-19 in the recent past, that will also          

     suffice.

   - I will not be requiring proof from anyone of their vaccination or prior diagnosis, I will be taking     

     people's word.  People who are extra cautious should be aware of this.

   - I will not be wearing a mask as it doesn't make much sense for a vaccinated person who is   

     surrounded by other vaccinated people to be masked up.  If you want to wear a mask you certainly   

     can, but I don't expect many will.

   - If you don't want to get vaccinated, you will still be welcome back in the garage once covid deaths in   

     the US dip below 100 a day and stay that way for a month or so.

 

So that's it, simple and straight forward.   Get jabbed if you want to play, if not, we will still be here when the numbers aren't so bad.

Right now Saturday, May 22 is looking like the official 'soft opening' of poker on Pepper Street.  I am likely to cap the event to two tables - just out of abundance of caution and also because it's been over a year since I ran a multi-table tournament, I would rather ease back into it than go full blast right out of the gate.

The first several tournaments will also be 'unofficial' in that they will not count towards Player of the Year Points or be good for a Tournament of Champions seat. 

Seating priority will go to players with the most seniority and also those who were the most regular in attendance over the past few years.  Rest assured, that once we have a few tournaments under our belts, I will re-open the list to everyone and we will have seats for up to 3 tables and we will also make them official with points and TOC seats.

I can hardly wait to play live poker again and I'm very much looking forward to seeing you all back in action!
