Thanks to the miracle of modern medicine, it appears we will be in GREAT shape to play live poker in the Pepper Street Garage Around Back this year! Here's a few thoughts and things to remember going forward...
- The first scheduled tournament open to all will most likely be on Saturday, May 22 at 5pm.
- This will NOT be an official PSP Tournament with a TOC seat and points, etc. Just a 'for fun' $40 no bounty get together to reunite us and get our feet wet.
- There is a better than good chance that there will be one or more 'Poker Night' gatherings before this date, with limited seating. These will likely be cash games - but I am open to a single table Sit-N-Go if that is the consensus.
- These 'Poker Night' invites will go out very last minute via text, if you are not invited please don't take it to heart - I will be targeting folks I know to be vaccinated and those who are most likely to be available to play with little advance notice.
Going forward - there is LOTS to be excited about Pepper Street Poker in 2021 and beyond! Here are a few thoughts and possibilities -
- I am going to aim for 2 Saturday 5pm tournaments a month starting in June, the first "official" PSP Tournament will likely be the second one in June.
- We will pick up where we left off in our 2020 season - Priya and Michael are the first two winners - we will continue until we reach 10 champions or 2021 ends, whichever comes first, and those 10 plus the remaining top 10 players in points will meet up in the TOC for the 2020 title.
- Because we are doing 2 tournaments a month, I'm hoping we will eventually be able to catch up and also award a 2021 TOC Championship in early 2022 and then be right on track for a 2022 Champion later in the same year.
- Cash games promise to be a big part of PSP as well, I'm going to be scheduling them as often as I can. I'm also going to focus my efforts on setting up a cash game table ahead of time at our tournaments - and add a TOC entry incentive for those who stay and play cash after they bust.
- The World Series of Poker is a big GO for 2021, so I'm hoping we can run a series of tournaments online with a mandatory Zoom component so we can all play and help each other in playing to insure that whoever goes to the WSOP for PSP is well prepared and brings home a lot of money! This online series would culminate in a final tournament that would happen live in the garage of course!
