A new day, a new year, a new chance for soul crushing beats!
28 starved for poker degenerates crammed into the garage. They had substantially less room because Pepper Street of course is the Troop headquarters for the kid's Girl Scout troop cookie supply!

Over the course of the evening I was a bit stunned that my kid ended up selling 85 boxes. That is not a typo. A huge thanks to all of you for supporting the kid's troop, and enjoy a great product that truly does sell itself because it is so tasty and only comes around once a year.
Action started off hot and heavy, I found the tables a little imbalanced when we started, so I took a seat at the angry red table, so-called because of it's inflammatory color. In truth, the company was super friendly.
We had two new players in the garage - Gina and Matt. The former I met at a charity poker tournament awhile back. She finally dragged her husband down to Pepper Street and they gambled it up. Hopefully they had fun and will come back, everyone certainly enjoyed their company.
There were bad beats a-plenty, with an early occurrence of this -

That was impressive, then a little bit later...
Our first year with an optional one time re-entry before the break if felted saw 3 takers - bumping the prize pool to over $1000 for the first time in a long time.
Dan L. was the first to bust, well after the break, and took some solace because he got to spin the Wheel-O-Fun!
He got to enjoy the thrill of winning a Lotto scratcher and then scratching with the anticipation of possibly win up to $800. Alas, his dreams were dashed with a great big goose egg. Next time Dan!
And then there were two tables, just after 10pm.
About an hour or so later, it was final table time.
It was a roller-coaster of a fun time, with sick calls and bad beats galore. In the end it was Barbara who was our 7th place finisher and the official bubble - so she got to spin the Wheel-O-Fun! And like Dan L, got to Lotto scratch away at a dream of a big pay day, and like Dan she came up empty. Next time Barb!
Play continued just past midnight and Colin was the first to finish in the money, getting his money back. It should be noted that he had a gang of chips but then I sucked out on him in nasty fashion, my J10 cracking his JJ with a lone ten of hearts finding a flush on a board that almost was mucked. I didn't see it and neither did Colin and I was ready to push the pot to him. I appreciate other players pointing out the error, and not just because it was in my favor. We are obligated to each other to always make sure the pot is awarded correctly, this also applies to Casino play as well.
Kat was next to exit, collecting double the buy-in and enough bounties to get both her and her husband unstuck for the evening.
I finally went down in fourth place for $140 - I was starting to think I had nine lives in this tournament as I had gotten my money in dreadfully bad more than a few times and managed to beat the odds every time, until the last time of course.
1am approached and then there were three and then this happened...
Randall won the main pot, since he had been the short stack Emanuel won a not insubstantial side pot and this saw my old high school homie Dan P. hitting the rail shortly thereafter, pocketing $220 for third place plus a bounty or two.
And then I'd love to say there was an epic heads up battle between Emanuel and Randall, but I'd be lying. They chopped the money for $380 apiece (both amounts well over the typical first place finish cash at a PSP monthly) and then basically flipped for the seat, both having pretty decent hands on the very first deal. Emanuel started out a little bit ahead, and his cards held.
Congrats to Emanuel for his first PSP tournament takedown - well done my man! Randall, hang in there friend, you cash probably more than almost anyone in the garage and your TOC will come!
A big thanks to everyone that came out to splash around and made it yet another great time. I am very blessed to have such a loyal and friendly group of poker compatriots.
A huge thanks to Jason for giving his time to come early and set up, it made a massive difference in this hosts afternoon - just not being on the verge of being frantic the entire time was truly awesome.
Not sure when the next one will be, but it looks like it could be in March! I will send the evite soon!
Until then, peace and we out!
