22 players, including 3 new friendly faces, crammed into a chilly garage last night for the third PSP tournament of the year.
Aggression seemed to be the theme of the night early on, as we had several rebuys.
Tony G. somehow forgot we haven't had an unlimited rebuy tournament in over 3 years, and hit the felt just before the first break.
After the 1st break the aggression abated slightly and only a half dozen or so bust outs happened in over the next hour.
But as 10pm approached the pace picked up and we were soon down to 2 tables, drawing to a single table shortly after the 2nd break.
New player Jule A. was our DVD bubble and she took home a Simpson's Season 3 box.
First to cash was Jason H., getting his buy in back.
Next to get monies was Allen Q., pocketing $80 for his efforts.
Last months tournament winner Bill K. was next to go, receiving $100 in fourth place money.
Longtime PSP player Dog D. took down third place along with $140.
And then there were two. Amy L. and Marc F. In all honesty, I can't remember the last heads-up match that had more swings than this one.
Back and forth the chips went, 60K at a time, until finally, at 5 minutes after midnight, Marc F. won the last battle taking home over $300 and the trophy!
Amy L. got 2nd place and $200, plus with her second big cash, she has put herself firmly atop the Player of the Year leader board.
A big thanks to Allen Q. for staying late and helping shuffle and deal.
A big thanks as well as to Dan I. for bringing in new player Eric. Welcome also to Julie A. and Allen R., new players that I met through Marc F. I hope all these fine folks had fun and will be back soon.
