Friday Cash - 2024.05

Another week, another chance to squeeze in more poker before the love of my life has to undergo more treatment.   Once again, it was mix games in the cash streets - and this time we had no less than 12 degenerates descend upon The Garage Around Back with two tables of six!

It's been a minute since my good buddy Allen the Q could join us, and I truly can't remember the last time he threw down in a cash game!  He was joined at the blue table by Michele, Jeff G., Lea Anne, Eric P. and yours truly.

Action started off hot and heavy, our first game (after a quick round of NLHE) was the vaunted SOHE and there was a big ass pot right off the bat!  I don't remember who else was involved, but I do know that I got half off it, off to a good start!

Over at the other table we had Jason, Colin, Allen R, Ian, Rich and Mr. Stuver - with the latter three coming back to the garage for the first time since the beginning of the year.  Welcome back fellows!

I'm not sure what precisely went on over at the green table, but it was rather raucous at times, and I even heard the words "Kill Pot" being bandied about.  I do believe they got into some big action and big pots!

Yours truly was having a great night, I kept playing probably too many hands but managed to sun run up my stack all the same.  As per usual, a few others left with dust and the rest were up a bit or down a bit.  Allen Q managed to spin up his $40 buy in to over $200+, so that almost paid for gas for his trip from Palmdale and back.

In for $100 out for $420 - watcha smokin'?

All in all it truly was a spectacular night - and I couldn't be happier (win or lose) with all the amazing people who came out to gamble it up.  You make this humble host feel special and super grateful for sure!

Not sure if poker is going to happen again in 2024 I'm afraid.  Once again I will have to see how my beloved wife is doing this next week, she has been steadily improving, but I'm not sure if hosting again is the best idea right now as we are gearing up for several more rounds of chemo in two weeks.  We will see.

In any event, I will say for now, that hosting you all in this small stakes big fun gatherings has been one of the great privileges of my life - each and every one of you really are the best!   I will always be  grateful for your kindness and love for our little game.

Until next time, PEACE and we out!
