 A whopping 17 playas were inbound to sit down and throw down in the poker tournament battle-royale known as Omaha Eight or Better!

But before we could start the pokers, we were off to the races! In a Derby Dash dice game for a free seat in the big event! 

Apparently lots of folks out there hate money because we only had five players - but the action was super fun all the same with Jason taking down the seat.  In fact it was so fun that we all played a second game for cash! Can’t remember who the big winner was, but really we were all winners - of degeneracy!

And then it was poker time!

Because we were playing fixed limit, I made the call that players could re-enter through the second break- and no less than four of us did! Yes, including yours truly.

Alas, my second attempt fell short and I busted well shy of the final table.  Stacks were super short, as they always are in fixed limit tournaments, and there were multiple multi-way eliminations before 8 players were left at the Final Table.

Kyle was the unfortunate bubble boy, collecting a big goose egg for his efforts.

Jerry busted next, finishing 5th for $50.

Our dealer extraordinaire Mr. Eric fell to a boat over boat and had to settle for fourth place and a $100 payout.

After a lengthy three way battle Mr. Colin finally relented and took third place along with $140.

This meant that the last player remaining in the “Last Longer” bet was Dr. David and he collected a cool $200 right away!  Meaning no matter who won in heads-up play between David and Jeff S, it was the former who was going to be walking away with the most money!

In the end, after a 30 minute duel that saw the chip lead go back and forth more than once, the hour was late and Dr. Dave proposed an even money chop with the seat going to the chip leader - Jeff happily agreed because he had the edge in clay composite discs!

Both players got $260,though as I mentioned, Dave got an additional $200. Jeff got the TOC seat guarantee plus 1st place points. Been a minute since your last win Mr. Jeff, nicely done!

Our next Saturday tournament is looking like May 21 - and it will be good old No-Limit Hold-Em! Hope you can make it!
