2019.10 Halloween Tournament

A surprisingly warm and windy afternoon turned into a rather pleasant evening in the garage, with the big door wide open of course.  At one point we had 25 players coming, but life got in the way for a bunch of them and so we ended up with 17.  I do appreciate people letting me know that they can't come, even if it's at the last minute - there's always another game!

My table was deceiving, I thought it was pretty relaxed and not much action was to be had - boy was I wrong!  By the break we'd had multiple re-entries, and a bust out!  There were mountains of chips all around!

But the bust-out at my table was not the first of the evening - that honor went to Legacy player Jeff S., and as always, there were many more exits to follow.  Why do we play tournament poker?

All in all 3 players busted out entirely before the break!  Sheyna ran her aces into quads by Colin and had to bail before the pizza.  That was the first of two quad hands by Mr. Colin, the second I had the pleasure of running into, after I turned a full house.

By the way, Natalie says thank you very much for those of you who purchased some Fall Product from her.  Your goodies should arrive in a month or two, make sure you keep coming to tournaments to get your stuff!

Ken was the first to bust after the break, and then there was a bunch more and before 830pm it was final table time!

The money bubble burst about an hour and a half later.  POY points leader Mike P. was the unfortunate bubbler.

And then there was five of us who were getting paid.  Eric L. got his money back, busting in 5th.  Well, actually he'd re-entered so...

Out in 4th place for $100 was yours truly after I let Colin get to a broadway straight after I had flopped two pair.  My fault!

And then there were three...

Randall put on a master class in rocking the short stack through much of the final table.  He parlayed it to a third place finish for $140.

Immediately after he busted, Allen had the chip lead by a bit and there was a proposal that Colin would concede the seat if he got first place monies ($240).    Since a second place cash was $200, Allen agreed - and that was that!

A big congrats to Legacy player Allen for yet another very well played tournament that this time worked out with him on top!   See you at the Tournament of Champions Allen!

It should be noted that Colin racked up $40 in bounties! Allen had $20 as well.

Speaking of the TOC, I hope that even if you don't win or qualify for a seat, you'll come for the 11am Mega-Satellite on Saturday, January 11th.   The Evite will be out soon.

As for the next No-Limit Hold-Em tournament, it's coming up quick - November 2nd is the date, Saturday at 5pm.  It will be a very special Dia de los Muertos celebration, hope you can make it!
