A lovely cool evening descended on Burbank and within the cozy confines of The Garage Around Back eighteen friendly gamblers gathered round for some good old fashioned Texas Hold-Em tournament pokerz.

Action was hot and heavy from the beginning.  While the green table was raucous and fun, the blue table was the land of the light three bet, and it's not surprising that it had the evening's first exit, in the form of Nate running his 77 into KK.

Just a bit earlier the green table had a boat over boat cooler and newer player Kramer was given the option to re-enter which he took.  The host feels good about the decision to allow this, as a full house is tough to lay down, and the host also doesn't like it when new players exit less than a half hour into the evening.  All players should be mindful however, this is still a freeze-out tournament and re-entries are rarely allowed as a matter of principle and common sense.

There recently has been a request for more pics of the host, since he's rarely included.  The following should put a stop to such requests.

Careful what you ask for. 

As hot and heavy as the action was, it took until 11 for the blue table to break and the final table to form.

Players started busting almost right away, with Dan and Jeff busting out on the same hand before I could even hit record on the video.  Thankfully I did hit record in time to capture this hand.

Garner had the KJ, Andrew had the AQ and new guy Brian had the KQ and all the chips when a king rolled off on the turn.  The rich indeed got richer.

And shortly thereafter we were in the money with Allen R. hitting the rail as the night's bubble boy.

I was next to exit, finishing in 5th place and collecting my buy in back plus $20 in bounties.

I was quite a while later that Barbara's short stack finally succumbed and she pocketed fourth place money which was double her buy-in.

As midnight approached and then passed, Brian saw his massive chip lead gradually evaporate to Jason and Kramer.  In the end Brian had to settle for third place monies, $120, plus another $20 in bounty action.

And then it was heads up.  Stacks were fairly close and Jason and Kramer battled for a good half hour before the dust settled and we had our winner.

In the end, the power of the eyeball bleeding orange jacket was simply too much for Kramer and he had to settle for the second place amount of $180, plus a single bounty.

Jason got the first place payout of $260, plus another $30 in bounties and a precious seat in the 2015 Tournament of Champions.  Plus he was the first player after me to collect our brand new "trophy" which is not really a trophy at all - but very cool all the same.

Only, he didn't collect it - he forgot it.  It's waiting for you Jason, you can pick it up at our next tournament, which will be on March 14th, same Bat-Time same Bat-Channel.
