As a cool February evening descended on beautiful Burbank, the garage was ready for 25 degenerates to pile in and pile on with teh pokerz.

No, it's even scarier, the PSP Poker Room!

There was not too much gambool early on, everyone made it past the first break.  It was probably the themed music that mellowed everyone out.  All the songs had "Love" in the title, a swell tribute to the crappiest of all holidays - Valentimes.

Yours truly, he of the shitty play, was first to exit.   The other three tables carried on in their merry way for another two hours before the old and busted greenie table was broken.

Always a party at old and busted.

New player Brad O., brought aboard by the inimitable Mike K., was our final table bubble and hit the rail with a slew of profanities that would've made a sailor blush.

It was final table time, and as 1130 approached so did the bubble, which was broken by Jeff W.  Then Bobby B. busted and collected his buy in back.

Next out was friendly fella Colin, who seemed happy to double his buy in.   Josh F. was next to go with $100 for fourth place.

After suffering one of the worst beats I've ever dealt, and it was nasty let me tell you, Julie A. went out in third place, collecting $140.  I didn't take a picture because it was so gross, Julie had AA and Greg had 77 and all the money went in pre-flop.  A big ol' 7 appeared right in the door and that was that.

And then Dan G. was heads up with the Greg.  Greg's better half helped out with the shuffling which was very much appreciated.   The cards continued to be crazy as the chip lead swung back and forth.  Of particular grossness was this - Greg was on the ropes and Dan got it in as a favorite with 99 vs. 102 (Texas Dolly special) and yeah, this happened.

Quads anyone?  Yes, that is Dan's helpful finger pointing out how interesting the hand is.

And then - this was pretty gross as well...

Hard to see, but K10 chops with K5, once again Dan was the broom handle recipient.

And finally, approaching 1230am, in a most unusual agreement, both players were about even in chips and agreed to chop the monies ($270 each) and play 2 more hands to determine the trophy winner!  Whatever guys!

The first hand was fairly uneventful, the second hand saw all the chips go in with Dan a slight favorite with a baby ace versus Greg's QJ.   All looked good for Dan until the river binked a Jack.  Once again, Dan had failed to close the deal and this time it was for all the marbles.  Even though he had chips left, the agreement was to end it with the chip leader taking the trophy.  Dan took it well.

So a big congrats are in order to Greg H., who takes down his first trophy after only four total tournaments played at PSP.  Well done Greg!

Our next monthly Tournament is on Saturday, March 1st at 7pm.  In the meantime, if you're dying for your poker fix, why not jump on a cheap flight to Vegas and join Jason H., Dan G. and myself for some poker debauchery over Valentines day weekend!  We would love to have you along.  Seriously, your spouse won't mind.
